fame - ranging from Elgar to the Beatles.
Among many other famous acts, familiar names who have performed at the Royal
Hall include Marty Wilde (1959), the Ike & Turner Show (1968), Grimethorpe
Colliery Band (1970), The Dubliners (1974), Ken Dodd (1975), Magnus Magnusson
(1977), Jasper Carrot (1978), Roy Castle (1980), Tommy Steele (1981), Don McLean
(1984), Sir David Attenborough (1985), Van Morrison (1986), David Essex (1987),
Chas ‘n’ Dave (1988), Tom O’Connor (1989), Vienna Boys Choir (1990), Jimmy Tarbuck
(1991), Joan Armatrading (1992), Pam Ayres (1997) and Elkie Brooks (1998).
