Access
The Royal Hall’s provision for those with special access needs has been radically
improved on its pre-restoration position.
Guests in wheelchairs, or with walking difficulties, may access the Royal Hall
from the entrance door to the north side of the Royal Hall, (Ripon Road,) adjacent
to the Harrogate International Centre (HIC) Hall A entrance. The entrance is ramped
and inside there is access to a lift.
Adapted WCs are located on the foyer level, by the south stairs, and on the Dress
Circle, adjacent to the lift. There is also an adapted dressing room which is
accessed from the scene dock, and this has its own adapted WC.
Both the Dress Circle and Grand Circle have enclosures at the rear for wheelchair
users with four wheelchair locations in the Grand Circle and six wheelchair locations
in the Dress Circle.
Currently there is unfortunately no provision for wheelchair users to access
the Grand Hall floor level, or the Heritage Lounge by lift. Access to these floors
will have to be arranged prior to visiting.
